Why Shoes Cheer Me Up

For some people food is the answer... for others a good book or maybe a long bath... while those things also cheer me up, nothing excites me more than shoes. I love a fresh new shoe, the sound of it slipping on, the peep of a well manicured toe. SHOES OMG!!!!

I have so many shoes. I have shoes for every occasion. Party shoes, dancing shoes, running shoes, music festival shoes... I even have shoes for when the party shoes start to hurt.

I was a little down today so I decided to look at one of my favorite shoe designers... cobbler??? Jeffrey Campbell. He's known for taking glammy risks and using odd shapes to intrigue and inspire the modern girl.

Though his shoes sometimes spark a little shock and awe I think no matter what the attention they call is fun!

SIGNS ALL AROUND

Almost a year ago Laura and I did a photo shoot after coming up with a creative project called The Beauty Bandits. The Beauty Bandits are MEEEE and Laura, two top stylist at Evolutions who master the art of beauty. We double as beauty bandits who seek out jobs to bring our talent to where it is needed.

From weddings to pin up to graduations to professional portraits. We take our talents to you. Laura has over 15 years of experience and is a updo master. Her work is elegant, whimsical, and detailed. There isn't a style she can't do.

I've been doing hair for the last 5 years specializing in styling and color and cuts. I also have been doing makeup for the last 8 years and have experience with MAC and Jane Iredale. I can do glamour I can do punk rock, I can do vintage and I can do sexy. It all depends on the occasion.

The Beauty Bandits started because we wanted to bring our love for pin up and our love for hair and makeup and infuse it into one thing. Sometimes working at the salon can be a little tooooo routine so we thought that if we could go on location then we could always face a new challenge and work in a whole new enviorment and never get bored of the same thing.

We have not gotten much work if any at all. Most of the work we have on our Facebook page came from working on our portfolio. Yet things have been happening and there is talk of a new possibility and we are not done yet!

We have seen signs, and it's all pointing towards a new wave of opportunities to get gigs, and new clients. Hopefully we can see the start of a new chapter of this whole thing. We can feel it coming and we want it so bad.

It's time to make our mark in the Treasure Coast!!!!

Five Bands

I'm excited about 5 bands right now, not because XM U tells me to like them or because it's what all the cool kids like but because the music speaks to me and demands my attention.

Beach House- We just saw them live in Miami and it was really great. I felt like they put on a dark and dreamy show and lead singer Victoria puts you under her spell. I couldn't stop moving and dancing under the shadows. The new record is amazing and you can hear the whole thing from first to last track and love each song as it is. They meant for that, the whole thing was recorded with the intention of a full listen. It's beautifully put together.

Best Coast- Summer is here and even if it doesn't feel it or look it, this new Album certainly feels it. I love Best Coast I think that they all work together and they have that melodic vibe that just gives each song depth. For me I enjoy listening to Best Coast while on the beach or driving around with the windows way down.

Here we go magic- I have not yet listened to the new album but I hear it is really great. I can't wait. Besides how cool was it that they picked up John Waters on the side of the road. I heard the new album was produced by Nigel Godrich and he does amazing things with Radiohead so that it something I def look forward to.

La Sera- Katy Goodman from Vivian Girls is so sexy on this album. She gives Gingers a good name. I love her voice and I love the new record for it's beachy vibes and beautiful vocals. TOTALLLLLY SEXY

Alice Cooper- Okay for the longest time I thought his music wasn't for me. Till stupid Dark Shadows, and now I can't seem to put it down. Alice Cooper is a beast and I love him. I should have given him a second shot when I began listening to glam rock but I just didn't… anyways I think that if you haven't figured it out… you should….

LISTEN TO MUSIC AND CONTINUE DOING LIFE

Too bad the salon I work at doesn't get it…. womp womp

Here I am!

I found myself in a new direction and I've realized that I can't sit here and think that one day my dreams will come to me while I sit around and wait for something to happen. I need to cause a spark that will ignite my mission and I've come too far to think that good things will happen to me.

It's been awhile since I began work over at Solutions Center in Stuart Fl, they have helped me flip the switch and think in a whole new positive way. I want more out of life and I'm ready to be more proactive and free spirited and just go with whatever the universe wants to throw at me.

This is not the same girl that didn't get the Goldwell job, or didn't like living in Port St Lucie, this is the girl who is reaching for bigger things no matter where she is and no matter what doesn't work out. I've learned that rejection is vital in life because you learn what works and what doesn't.

So with that being said look forward to exciting posts and hopefully a new book within two years. I still have more learning to do and I know that.

Thank God for music, Music is my religion and without it I wouldn't be alive.
